MIGUEL RAPOSO ALVES IS THE NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF ATLANTICO
BANCO MILLENNIUM ATLÂNTICO HAS A NEW CEO AND TWO NEW DIRECTORS, ONE OF WHOM IS NON-EXECUTIVE
Luanda, 01 July 2022 – The General Meeting of Shareholders of Banco Millennium Atlântico has appointed three new Board of Directors members, whose registration has already been approved by Banco Nacional de Angola. The new members are Miguel Raposo Alves, as Chief Executiv Officer; Mauro Santos Neves, as Executive Director; and José Carlos Burity, as Independent Director, non-executive
This Board of Directors and Executive Committee renewal comes in the wake of the request for replacement submitted, about a year ago, by Daniel Carvalho dos Santos, on personal and family grounds, as well as the need to make the governance model, and in particularly the structure of ATLANTICO's governing bodies compliant with the new regulatory requirements of Banco Nacional de Angola.
The shareholders and the Board of Directors of the Bank expressed their gratitude to Daniel Carvalho dos Santos for his high professionalism, competence and dedication demonstrated in carrying out all the duties entrusted to him over the years as Chairman of the ATLANTICO Executive Committee, and hope to continue to count on his contribution in the new phase that is now beginning, in which he will perform the duties of Deputy-Chairman/CEO of the Board of Directors
Until his appointment as CEO of ATLANTICO, Miguel Raposo Alves was Managing Director & CEO at Hemera Capital Partners. He has over 25 years’ experience in the international financial sector, with a track record in several countries, including Angola. He will now be committed to ensuring the sustainability of the business, the achievement of strategic goals and, to this end, implement the process of growth and constant transformation of the Bank.
Mauro dos Santos Neves has over 12 years’ experience in the Angolan banking sector, marked by a career in ATLANTICO, where he held senior positions and was involved in financial markets and asset management, structuring, managing and negotiating several credit lines and trade finance with international financial institutions.
As an independent, non-executive Director, José Carlos Burity joins the Board of Directors of the Bank in fulfillment of the compliance requirements of the Banco Nacional de Angola. He has a long and proven track record in credit risk management and corporate governance. Of particular note is his active participation in the strengthening and expansion of institutional and business relations with correspondent banks and multilateral institutions to facilitate trade finance and correspondence banking transactions with emerging markets, especially with those within the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries.
