ATLANTICO SIGNS PARTNERSHIP WITH THE WORLD'S LARGEST STARTUPS ACCELERATOR
At a time when startups are gaining more space in the national market, Banco Millennium Atlântico, through the Disruption Lab, signs a partnership contract with the Founder Institute, one of the largest startup accelerators in the world. This signature reinforces the Bank's commitment to the technological development of Angola and the training of young entrepreneurs who want to contribute to job creation and the development of platforms that facilitate the daily lives of citizens.
The agreement signed with the Founder Institute aims to empower entrepreneurs, whose talent and motivation are widely recognized, in the creation of companies with an impact on Angolan daily life. And it aims, above all, to boost innovative projects in Angola with a solid technological base and associated financial support.
Signed on behalf of ATLANTICO by the President of the Executive Committee, Daniel Santos and the Vice-President, Augusto Baptista, this agreement was also initialed by Haymée Cogle of the Founder Institute.
Since the creation of Founder Institute Luanda, in October 2018, 9 companies have been created by a dozen entrepreneurs who have already put their products and services on the market and have generated employment opportunities for the younger population, namely Profília, a digital platform for the registration of independent workers; Kabula, a digital platform for systematizing and sharing academic documents; Narulim, a startup dedicated to the production of biodegradable detergents; Ortalice, a digital platform for the distribution of agricultural products; and Digidati, a digital platform to facilitate payments. But also Kimpovi, the first digital platform dedicated to the provision of legal services; Hand on Road, through which assistance and emergency services on Angolan roads are streamlined; Zaikana, which allows users to keep abreast of what is happening on the roads of Angola; and Unirme, which allows users to access and attend online courses.
With headquarters in Silicon Valley, the Founder Institute is present in more than 180 cities in 70 countries around the world and has contributed to the creation of at least 3,500 companies, having collaborated with their mentors to raise the necessary funds for their implementation.
